My specialty is synthesis: listening between the lines, capturing essence, and translating it into clear, compelling frameworks, visuals, and language. I sketch not just what’s said—but what’s meant. The soul of the message.

A Few Things About Me ...

My husband and I met breakfast club style at a table in our high school cafeteria. Turning to a friend he said, “Some day I’m going to marry that girl.” And he did. Nowadays we express our love by compromises over the thermostat and the status of tucked in bed sheets.

Life with three kids is a beautiful blur where I only have time to wash my hair on Saturdays. If the weather is cooperating in our hometown in the Chicago burbs, you can find me and the kids sipping root beers on our front porch.

Coach of Professionals

Since 2016, I’ve coached some of the hardest working, underrated, and oftentimes burned out, professionals to exist— educators. From classroom teachers to other coaches as well as highly demanding leadership roles like principals and district level directors, setting goals and achieving impact has been my daily work. 

I knew it was time to expand my reach beyond the world of academia when many other communicators in my sphere were requesting my work. If you’ve got goals or dreams or even just hope to find them, I’m your person.

Communicator

Writing, podcasting, and sketchnoting has been an exercise in breaking out of anonymity and expressing myself creatively outside the 9-5. At the office, I have honed the craft of communication through the lens of leadership.

Learning a second language was the most formative experience in developing my communication skills. It first led me to a teaching stint in Spain and then 13 years of teaching high school Spanish stateside.

You know you can communicate with anyone when you have lived abroad, navigated the world as a foreigner, as well as guided 150 angsty adolescents in their second language on the daily.

Clarified Butter

They call me “clarified butter” for a reason—I distill swirling thoughts to their purest, richest essence. Then I help you translate and capture that complex message visually.

Through visual synthesis, message mapping, and soul-aligned strategy, I bring order to the mess and shape to the meaning—so your message spreads far and sticks deep.

My story. . .

For most of my life, I lived a Jesus-adjacent existence; faith present, but not central. That all changed during the pandemic.

While many professionals worked from home, frontline workers—including educators like me—were called back into schools, terrified and uncertain. Faced with my own mortality, the chaos of the world, and deep vocational questions, I reached a hinge-point. I knew I couldn’t keep living on autopilot.

In the stillness of my car, commuting two hours a day while the world reeled, I began to reflect and rebuild. That daily liminal space became sacred ground. I met God there. And everything started to shift.

Since then, I’ve dared to dream beyond the career script I once followed. I still work full-time in education, but now I also co-lead Grounded Learning LLC, a professional learning consultancy that supports educators through custom-designed PD and the Grounded Learners Guild podcast.

With a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Spanish, I spent my early professional years in the classroom. Nowadays I leverage my two master’s degrees in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership coaching adult learners and professionals.

I am trained in a variety of coaching frameworks such as the Impact Cycle, Growth Model, Differentiated Coaching, and Coaching for Emotional Resilience to name a few. My sweet spot? Helping people gain clarity, set meaningful goals, and take bold, actionable steps forward.

These days, my work has evolved beyond education alone.

Whether it’s a keynote message, a creative idea, or a buried dream, my superpower is distilling complexity into clear visuals and soul-level insights. Some even call me “clarified butter” because I help refine what’s already there and bring it to life.

While the pandemic may be in our rearview mirror, the transformation it stirred in me remains at the center of everything I do. I haven’t forgotten what it taught me, or what it might still be teaching all of us.

We’re changed. And that might just be the invitation.
